Qualitative exposure assessment (QEA) is a workplace exposure risk assessment based on the integration of information and judgment and is not based on rigorous analysis of workplace sampling. In a qualitative analysis, an industrial hygienist reviews the amount of toxicity (inherent danger) of an agent along with the frequency or degree of exposure whether the given exposure is considerable or if it is likely to result in a negative health condition. In Qualitative exposure assessment, observations are made of equipment operation and employee work practices, and the impact of the process is considered.
